Date
November 2022
Location
Chennai,Tamil Nadu
An autonomous drone designed to address real-world challenges through advanced robotics. This project combined technologies like Pixhawk flight controller, ROS2, and Python, to create a versatile system with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) capabilities using LiDAR and Nav2.
Equipped with a high-resolution camera, the drone was engineered for precise task execution, such as autonomous landing and pick-and-drop operations. The project’s primary focus was a unique use case in Kaziranga National Park, where the drone was utilized for tracking endangered and wounded single-horned rhinos. Its ability to navigate diverse terrains and use computer vision for real-time monitoring made it a valuable tool for conservation efforts a unique Bioinspired Falcon Claw was deigned to hinge to any adjacent tall tree branches to reduce power usage when rhino's are not moving.
